I contacted Hot Springs Fence & Deck regarding the repair/replacement of a deck at my residence. My experience is as follows: I initially reached out through the online contact form on their website and provided the necessary information regarding my request for an onsite consultation. After a couple of weeks without any response, I decided to follow up via a phone call to the number listed online. I was directed to a voicemail inbox that was full and couldn’t leave a message. As a last attempt, I sent an email to the email address listed on their website. After the email was sent, I received a phone call the same day from a phone number that was different than the listed business phone. At that point, I was able to articulate the scope of work I needed and scheduled an on-site consultation. The day of the appointment came, and I took off work early to be home for the consultation. Once the scheduled time came around, nobody had arrived. I did not receive any communication stating that there would be a delay or a need to reschedule. After waiting half an hour beyond the scheduled time, I called the business phone number and got directed to the voicemail inbox yet again. I was able to leave a message that time and stated that nobody showed, and at this point I’m no longer interested. Within minutes, I received a phone call saying they were running late and could swing by still if I was available. I had them come by later that evening and the installer was pleasant to discuss things with and answered all of my questions. He took measurements and sketched out quantities that would allow him to generate an estimate for me. He left with a handshake and stated that I’d be hearing back from him shortly. At the time of this review, October 24, 2024, it’s been exactly a month since the consultation occurred and I’ve never been contacted with an estimate. I had hoped to use what I thought was a highly rated, local company for this project. My experience has been the exact opposite of what I expected from a company with such good reviews. It’s evident based on other’s testimonies that they’re capable of decent work, appearing to be primarily fencing related. I also completely understand that contractors are busy with projects other than mine. That being said, if I’m expressing interest in a company to perform work that would ultimately cost me thousands of dollars, I expect basic communication at a minimum. It’s been nothing but pulling teeth from square one to get any type of information or response. Hindsight is 20/20, but I should’ve noticed this pattern earlier on and avoided all the wasted time and effort. In my instance, Hot Springs Fence & Deck had more than enough chances and ultimately dropped the ball. I’ll be taking my business and hard-earned money elsewhere. I’m glad to have dodged a bullet with this one.
